National Action Plan for Sustainable Palm Oil Opens for Public Consultation
Over the past two years, Forum Kelapa Sawit Berkelanjutan Indonesia (FoKSBI) has been working together to develop a National Action Plan for sustainable palm oil. Although it is a lengthy process, by co-creating solutions, the sectoral stakeholders drive broad ownership of the Action Plan, create greater trust between actors, and it is hoped, will deliver more sustainable palm oil development in Indonesia. The process has involved relevant Indonesian government ministries in the oil palm sector, plantation companies, development, civil society and non-government organisations, as well as national and international experts.
The latest draft of the NAP is now open for public consultation up to 30 September 2017. This is now a specific opportunity for international stakeholders to provide input and comments on the draft.
